At the start of every year, the team at Consultwebs gathers our top industry specialists, locks them in a room (metaphorically), and asks for their wildest, most data-backed predictions for the future of legal marketing. This year, those insights turned into a massive 20+ page playbook covering everything from AI search disruption to the next evolution of web design and social media.

Now that we’re halfway through the year, it’s time to revisit those predictions and see exactly what we got right.

Let’s dive in!

SEO & AI Search Predictions

SEO is no stranger to rapid changes, especially with AI-driven shifts in the past couple of years. These are the trends we correctly forecasted.

What We Predicted:

“We have to answer people’s searches (now a.k.a, prompts) directly, without having too much fluff. Now it’s not about word count (it hasn’t been for a long time), it’s about answering the search intent with the most relevant information and in the most unique way, so that you can differentiate from others.”

What We’re Seeing:

This continued to grow and become important, giving a unique perspective and data, which is how you get more visibility.

What We Predicted:

“Pages with clear, comprehensive, and first-hand experience-based content will perform better. This is especially true for “Your Money or Your Life” (YMYL) topics like legal advice, where Google holds sites to the highest standard. Law firms need to prove their real-world expertise and authority. Building a standing E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trust) is inevitable for law firms.”

What We’re Seeing:

The December 2025 and March 2026 core updates hammered this home; sites that we saw doing this well grew during those updates while sites that lagged or lacked them saw declines.

What We Predicted:

“But this time, not only for Google, but also for ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, and so on. Google’s SERP is becoming more visual and interactive, with carousels, grids, and filters taking a larger portion of the screen (As of January 2025, some AIOs have increased to 800px and are predicted to potentially reach 1,000px), particularly on mobile devices. This “visual-first” approach means that content isn’t just about text anymore; it’s about rich media and structured data. It’s especially important for the law firms that are smaller, and those that compete in a large competition.”

What We’re Seeing:

While our prediction about Schema Markup being specifically utilized by AI tools didn’t quite hit the mark, it does still play an important role.

One of the biggest influences on what shows in an AI result is whether the LLM does an external search or just uses its training data. If it uses Google or Bing and searches to look at answers and then factors the results of that search into its own answer, then your ranking and visibility in traditional SEO has a major impact. The features you show up for in those searches are impacted by Schema Markup and other traditional SEO tactics.

What We Predicted:

“Focusing only on Google Search is not enough anymore. It’s not only about the SEO you know of, as per Rand Fishkin. People are searching everywhere. Not being on that platform, you are missing the opportunity of getting cited there and missing the opportunity to beat your competitors. A lot of large platforms have their own AI search results, and if they don’t, they are working hard on getting there. Be prepared. We will continue to see more AI-powered features roll out from Google. Change will be constant, and testing will be a key focus for 2026.”

What We’re Seeing:

This prediction has been spot on and continues to remain relevant. We watched as Reddit was the top cited source in Google AI Overviews, which has changed a bit, and now YouTube has overtaken that, with LinkedIn climbing the ranks as well. We have also seen legal directory sites make a huge comeback as AI models are using them as trusted sources on a regular basis. AI is not looking in one place; it’s looking all over.

What We Predicted:

“AI cannot be tracked like traditional keywords can. The extent of reliable tracking comes from analytics and monitoring the traffic and conversion rates coming from AI platforms. You cannot reliably track visibility, rankings, or anything else tied to AI results in the various platforms or in Google’s AI Overviews. These are already personalized, and this will continue as they provide memory, so the tools remember your likes and dislikes and can further tailor the response. This leads to everything being new and unique.”

What We’re Seeing:

This has continued to be a pain point for marketing professionals; we still do not have reliable tracking, and there are various ways of getting results. It can be broken down into two buckets. LLM-only searches, where it looks only at the data in the model. Then LLM + Search, where it does a live search to look for related results and pull them in to inform its decision.

The search piece is where SEO comes in. If you have good visibility, then you will show up more often. As for tracking, it’s still not great. Recent studies show that you can run a search 100 times, and every time the answer will vary. Also, personalization has become stronger, with more memory, it can remember searches you did previously and other conversations you had, and use that information to help personalize your results.

Web Design Predictions

What We Predicted:

“AI has taken some of the grunt work out of our daily digital workloads and routines. This will apply to web design in the form of AI chatbots that can provide customer service 24/7, 365 days a year. Website search will also be improved with on-site AI tools, providing more accurate and speedy results when searching very large, technical, and content-heavy websites.”

What We’re Seeing:

New AI-fueled chat products launch every day. AI assistance has been increasingly prominent in 2026.

Video Marketing Predictions

Call us Nostradamus, because ALL of our video marketing predictions came true this year. We will be highlighting our favorites, but be sure to check the rest of them out in the full book here.

What We Predicted:

“Large-language-models (LLMs) like Gemini and ChatGPT will lean more on answers that feature video content when applicable, showcasing high-quality content that answers questions in a concise manner. SEO for videos on websites and social media platforms will need to be even more critical for LLMs to recommend them.”

What We’re Seeing:

This couldn’t be truer today. YouTube continues to vie for the number one platform being cited for LLMs like ChatGPT and AI Overviews. Videos are increasingly embedded in AI Overviews as sources of information.

What We Predicted:

“Short-form video content will continue to dominate. We expect to see more short-form content tailored to specific platforms like slightly longer videos for TikTok and shorter ones for Reels. Instead of only repurposing long-form video, more brands will prioritize separate original short-form content for episodic series, interactive shorts, and more. ”

What We’re Seeing:

Short-form videos remain popular for social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, with platforms like LinkedIn also continuing to prioritize them. Many social media platforms are also indexed by Google, which helps demonstrate a law firm’s EEAT. Social media plays an integral role in establishing social proof and authority.

What We Predicted:

“AI video floods the market and will continue to do so. Audiences will be seeking proof of human involvement. AI-usage transparency in video content will be under a microscope, with the sentiment leaning toward audiences craving more unpolished human-created videos. Platforms will enforce AI-generated labels.”

What We’re Seeing:

Due to an influx of AI-generated content, major social media platforms, along with websites like Wikipedia, have cracked down on AI content. These new policies continue to evolve with new guidelines and labels rolling out frequently.

What We Predicted:

“Strong hooks and text overlays will be critical. Silent video consumption is widespread (scrolling without sound), and many people who do this will flip right past a video without obvious and attractive captioning.”

What We’re Seeing:

Videos with native or high-quality stylized captions consistently outperform identical videos without them in average watch time. Furthermore, platforms process and index the actual words in your captions, making them a crucial driver for Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Strong hooks and text overlays will be critical. Silent video consumption is widespread (scrolling without sound), and many people who do this will flip right past a video without obvious and attractive captioning.

PPC Predictions

Our PPC team correctly predicted many items as well. Google is notoriously cryptic, so it is quite the feat to predict this many items correctly.

What We Predicted:

“AI is Mandatory – AI drives automation, optimization, and predictive campaign performance.”

What We’re Seeing:

Throughout 2026, Google continued expanding AI-powered advertising features, making AI a core part of campaign management. Law firms increasingly relied on AI-driven bidding, audience targeting, and campaign optimization to remain competitive.

What We Predicted:

“Human + AI Balance – Scale with AI while keeping strategy, compliance, and oversight intact.”

What We’re Seeing:

This prediction proved especially accurate for law firms. While AI-generated optimizations helped increase lead volume, many legal advertisers reported lower lead quality and irrelevant case inquiries. Human oversight remained essential to maintain compliance, control search intent, and improve lead qualification.

What We Predicted:

“Tracking Offline Conversions”

What We’re Seeing:

Offline conversion tracking became increasingly important for law firms because signed cases, qualified consultations, and retained clients are stronger indicators of success than online leads alone. Google’s automation systems continue to prioritize high-quality conversion data.

What We Predicted:

“Strengthen First-Party Data Strategy”

What We’re Seeing:

As privacy regulations increased and third-party tracking became less reliable, law firms were encouraged to invest in first-party data strategies, Customer Match, and Enhanced Conversions to improve campaign performance and measurement.

What We Predicted:

“Stay Flexible with Campaign Structures.”

What We’re Seeing:

As Google continued expanding Demand Gen, AI Max, and AI-powered placements, law firms increasingly tested new campaign formats while maintaining Search as the primary lead-generation channel. Successful firms adapted to new formats without abandoning proven search strategies.

Social media changes weekly, daily, sometimes even by the hour. Almost every single prediction in our original book was predicted correctly for Social Media. We’ve highlighted the most noteworthy ones below.

What We Predicted:

“TikTok becomes the new Google (especially for Gen-Z) not only in search, but in Maps. More and more people are turning to TikTok, especially for local searches like businesses (especially law firms!)”

What We’re Seeing:

When users search on TikTok they can filter by nearby businesses and videos. The app also introduced local feeds earlier in the year.

What We Predicted:

“Nostalgia makes a big comeback.”

What We’re Seeing:

Nostalgia is making a huge comeback! It’s primarily driven by Millennials and Gen-Z. More users are using old filters, trends in audio and dance, fashion, unpolished styles, etc.

What We Predicted:

“Governments will regulate platforms even more. We’ve seen it hitting in 2025, and it’s only going to grow. Expect stricter privacy data laws, platform accountability, and stricter local laws.”

What We’re Seeing:

We’ve been sounding bells on this one for years, but with social media lawsuits and AI developing even quicker, this is bound to continue. Examples of public calls for action here and here.

What We Predicted:

“AI-generated tools will become very popular, even more than they currently are (which is super popular). This will force AI users to note when their content is AI-generated.”

What We’re Seeing:

While some gaps still remain, social media platforms have made a significant effort in labeling AI disclosures.

Your law firm’s logo design can display more than your firm’s name. With one image, your firm can communicate everything from integrity to dedication to professionalism to confidence. A strong logo unifies your brand and builds trust as you continue to provide quality legal services under its banner.

However, you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. You need to get it right.

At Consultwebs, we help with all aspects of law firm marketing, providing our clients with the tools to build their brand, stand out from the crowd, and continue to grow in an increasingly complicated and competitive market.

This comprehensive law firm logo guide will explain exactly why your own law firm’s logo matters, what makes an effective logo, and how to create one that truly represents your firm.

Why Does a Good Law Firm Logo Matter?

A strong law firm logo matters for three core reasons:

  • It establishes recognition and trust – Your law firm logo stands for your firm in people’s minds. It is a shorthand symbol for your firm. When clients see it on your website, signage, law firm’s letterheads, and business cards, they associate it with the quality of services you provide. A well-designed logo conveys that you take your practice and your clients seriously, which builds trust.
  • It sets your firm apart from your competition – Your law office logo design gives your firm a unique visual identity in a crowded marketplace. Most law firms rely on the same formula: scales of justice, generic serif fonts, tired color palettes, and forgettable designs. When your logo looks fresh and professional, clients notice.
  • It provides a great first impression – Your logo greets prospective clients before you do. It offers a first visual impression that sets the tone for that potential client’s relationship with your firm going forward. A distinctive logo that is strong, clean, professional, and memorable conveys a positive tone. If the logo is weak, messy, cluttered, or forgettable, that first impression may not be strong.

What Are Key Elements of an Effective Law Firm Logo?

Building a memorable logo for your law firm begins by focusing on the essential design elements that ultimately combine into a unified, eye-catching whole. Here’s what matters, and why.

Colors

Law firm logo colors convey meaning. Law firm logos often use blue because it evokes trust, stability, calm, and professionalism. That doesn’t mean you must choose blue – and in fact, deviating from typical law firm marketing may be a great way to stand out – but if you go away from the usual deep navy or royal blue, consider an equally intense color.

Typography/Font

Different typefaces (what some call fonts) have different feels. Choosing one that’s easy to read on screen and in print is essential, but you also want one that conveys confidence and professionalism. Avoid overly decorative or trendy fonts that might look outdated down the line. Also, be sure to choose a web-safe font so your logo appears consistently across browsers and devices.

There’s no one “best” typeface for legal logo design, but there are many that don’t suit the purposes of a law firm logo. Would you trust a lawyer whose name’s in Comic Sans? Instead, aim for a careful balance of form and function. For example, a classic serif (like Garamond) or modern sans serif (like Futura) conveys confidence while providing readability.

Symbols

Symbols convey a lot of information in a tiny package. Scales of justice, classical columns, gavels, or abstract courthouse shapes are standard in law firm marketing, but don’t rely too heavily on these clichés. Try using symbols freshly, or combine them with the firm name to create something original.

Scalability

Scalability is critical in law firm digital marketing. Your logo will appear in a variety of contexts: website header, business card, social media profile, signs, ad space, and possibly even billboards. The design must scale up and remain crisp, and scale down while remaining legible.

Simplicity and Clarity

Too often, law firms confuse complicated for sophisticated when designing a logo. You may have a lot to say in the tiny space a logo allows, but less is absolutely more when it comes to this aspect of law firm marketing. Simple logos stick in memory, reproduce better, and even cost less to work with. Aim for clarity: clear lines, strong contrast, and minimal unnecessary detail.

Proper Format

In both law firm digital marketing and traditional marketing, delivering the correct file formats matters. Make sure your logo comes in multiple usable formats so your firm can apply it anywhere:

  • Vector (.eps) – This format ensures infinite scalability without loss of quality. Use it for print banners, t-shirts, signage, business cards, and letterheads.
  • Transparent (.png) – PNGs preserve crisp edges and allow transparency. Use this for overlaying your logo on colored backgrounds for websites or letterhead.
  • JPEG (.jpg) – The classic JPEG is good for general web or digital use when transparency isn’t needed. It’s ideal for quick email attachments or social posts, though you should avoid heavy resizing as JPEGs can lose clarity.
  • Scalable Vector Graphics (.svg) – SVG files are well-suited for modern digital use, such as social media posts and online law firm web campaigns, thanks to their scalability and small file sizes. SVGs load quickly online and look sharp on any device.

What Are Examples of Good Law Firm Logos?

Looking at some compelling logos can tell you far more about what makes them successful than any amount of explanation. Here are three law firms that each took its own, distinctive approach.

Marks & Harrison

Marks & Harrison uses a serif wordmark in white on a deep cobalt blue background, which immediately signals stability and trust. The logo offers a perfect example of clarity and simplicity. Not every law firm’s name has the right aesthetic properties for a wordmark logo as clean as this one. Still, the branding team at Marks & Harrison was wise enough to recognize how the verticality of the letters in the partners’ names can convey strength and uprightness.

Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C.

Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. takes a more graphic approach with its logo. It starts with two thin blue lines that bisect each other at right angles, creating four clean sectors, with the top two considerably taller than the bottom two. In the top left is a green globe with the firm’s initials in white, rendered in a curvilinear serif typeface.

In the field immediately to the right, the firm’s full name appears in the same typeface but a thinner font, and in the same green color as the globe. Each name has its own line, with the ampersand sharing a row with Pritchard and the “P.C” omitted. “Trial Lawyers” appears beneath the name in the bottom right field, in a smaller weight and in a subtle gray. The bottom left field is empty.

The result is balance without exact symmetry, instilling a sense of timelessness and trustworthiness while maintaining visual interest — fitting for a law firm with more than 40 years of history and billions in recoveries.

Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C.

Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C., introduces a figurative element to an otherwise understated logo rendered in black on a white field. A thin negative space bisects the emblem on a vertical axis. On the left is a line drawing of an Ionic-order column’s capital, evocative of the courts of law. The curling volute offsets the logo’s strong verticality. The right half of the capital is replaced by the firm’s name, rendered in a typeface similar to that used by Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. Similarly, each partner’s name is given its own line, with “Salomon” sharing its line with an ampersand and containing a small “P.C.” within the negative space of its second O. With its classical elements and simple black colorway, the DSS logo connotes both the timelessness and impartiality of the law.

Do You Need to Trademark Your Logo?

Your logo becomes trademarked as soon as you use it to advertise your business. While you are not required by law to register your trademark, doing so can help you protect the value of your brand.

Who Should You Contact to Create Your Law Firm Logo?

So, now that you know why your logo is so important, where do you turn for help creating the right one? Here are four options to consider:

  • Consultwebs – As a full-service legal marketing firm, we know the importance of a good logo. Our in-house team can work with you to understand your values and translate them into a strong, recognizable logo that integrates with every facet of your overall brand strategy.
  • Professional graphic designer – If you’re just looking for a logo and nothing else, a professional graphic designer may fit your needs. Look for someone who has specific experience in the legal sector, has past work that lines up with your preferences, and charges fees that suit your budget.
  • Freelance – Freelancers provide a cheaper alternative to established professional graphic designers, and services like Fiverr make it easy to compare submissions from a range of creative workers. Just be aware that you get what you pay for, and your options for true customization will be limited.
  • DIY – If you’re really short on cash or just starting your practice, you might consider rolling up your sleeves and doing your own design work. If you’re reasonably savvy, Adobe Photoshop is a powerful tool for graphic design, while products like Canva make it easy to create simple designs with a few clicks. As your practice becomes more successful, though, you might consider a more professional upgrade.

After more than 26 years of helping law firms grow online, one thing has never changed: digital marketing doesn’t stand still.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce our newest free ebook, 2026 Digital Marketing Predictions for Law Firms—a forward-looking guide designed to help attorneys understand what’s coming next and how to prepare ahead of changes.

As we look ahead to 2026, one reality stands above all others:

AI isn’t coming. It’s already here.

From Google’s AI Overviews to increased automation in advertising and a renewed demand for human-first experiences, the digital ecosystem is evolving faster than ever. For law firms, visibility, credibility, and trust in 2026 will depend on how well these tools are adopted, without losing the human connection that drives real client decisions.

Our new ebook breaks down what these changes mean in practical terms. Below is a preview of the key trends expected to shape legal marketing in 2026.

Adapting to the AI Search Revolution

One of the most significant shifts already underway is Google’s AI Overviews, which summarize answers directly in search results. These experiences are accelerating the rise of “zero-click” searches, where users get what they need without visiting a website at all.

For law firms, this represents a fundamental change. Rankings still matter—but in 2026, success will depend on whether AI engines view your firm as a trusted source worth citing.

What this means for personal injury firms:

  • Content must deliver clear, authoritative answers in formats AI can easily understand.
  • First-hand experience and true E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trust) content will matter more than ever.
  • Expect volatility as AI platforms continue refining how relevance and credibility are defined.

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

Traditional SEO is expanding into Generative Engine Optimization, focused on visibility within platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. These tools synthesize information from across the web to generate custom answers, making credibility just as important as keywords.

In 2026, firms should expect:

  • Increased importance of structured data and schema to help AI understand content.
  • Reduced reliance on Google alone as search behavior spreads across AI tools, social platforms, and communities like Reddit.
  • New measurement standards that prioritize traffic, leads, and conversions over keyword rankings.

Branded campaigns and diversified visibility will be critical. Firms that rely on a single channel will be more vulnerable to disruption.

Web Design

After years of “AI everything,” audiences are gravitating back toward authenticity. The most effective law firm websites in 2026 will balance AI-powered efficiency with genuine, human storytelling.

Key shifts include:

  • Warmer, more approachable copy that feels personal, not robotic.
  • AI-powered chat tools that improve response times while preserving human follow-up.
  • Voice-enabled navigation, accessibility improvements, and immersive visual experiences.

Your website remains your digital front door. In 2026, it must feel alive, trustworthy, and unmistakably your law firm’s unique voice.

Video Marketing

AI can speed up video production, but it can’t replace credibility. Attorneys who appear on camera, sharing insights, stories, and real experiences, will continue to stand out.

Looking ahead:

  • Video SEO will expand as AI platforms increasingly surface video in responses.
  • Short-form video on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts will remain dominant.
  • Clearly labeled AI-generated content will make real, human-led videos even more compelling.

If your firm isn’t creating consistent short-form video yet, you’re already behind.

PPC

Pay-per-click advertising is becoming more automated, but legal nuance still requires expert oversight. AI-driven systems can improve efficiency, but without guidance, they often generate unqualified leads or wasted spend.

Winning PPC strategies will include:

  • Strong first-party data foundations.
  • Video-first campaigns across YouTube and Google Discover.
  • Ongoing human monitoring to ensure relevance, compliance, and lead quality.
  • Continuous testing to align automation with real firm goals.

AI is a tool—not a replacement for strategy.

Social Media

Social platforms will continue evolving rapidly in 2026. While AI-generated content becomes more common, audiences are also becoming more skeptical of it.

Expect:

  • Increased use of AI avatars, alongside growing fatigue when they’re overused.
  • A resurgence of memes, short looping videos, and relatable humor.
  • LinkedIn is shifting more toward lifestyle, culture, and behind-the-scenes content.
  • Greater regulation around data privacy and transparency.

Bottom line: don’t automate your humanity. The firms that show real faces, real stories, and real wins will always outperform those that don’t.

The Takeaway: Human Expertise + Intelligent Automation

2026 will be a defining year for legal digital marketing. AI will continue changing how potential clients discover and evaluate law firms, but trust, experience, and authenticity will remain irreplaceable.

Winning firms will:

✅ Use AI to enhance efficiency, not replace expertise.

✅ Build visibility beyond Google search across social, video, and AI platforms.

✅ Keep their voice authentic, personal, and client-focused.

Consultwebs delivers essential marketing updates, saving busy attorneys time with curated information straight from the Nation’s Most Sought After Legal Digital Marketing Agency.

So, what happened in April? Let’s dive in!

Marketing Updates

🔎SEO

  • Google launches thousands of updates per year. In total, they run approximately 700,000 tests annually. In 2023, that led to 4,700 changes to Search.
  • Google Maps and business profiles get an upgrade to combat fake reviews. What Google says about this change: “We trained a new model with the help of Gemini that identifies potentially suspicious profile edits. A business that changes its name from ‘Zoe’s Coffee House’ to ‘Zoe’s Cafe’ isn’t suspicious—but a business that suddenly changes its category from ‘cafe’ to ‘plumber’ is.”
  • Google AI Overviews reaches 1.5 billion monthly users.

📣Paid Advertising

  • Google recently sent out a subtle but impactful policy update to advertisers, confirming changes to its long-standing “Unfair Advantage Policy”. The policy’s enforcement date began April 14th, 2025.

📱Social Media

  • TikTok is here to stay–at least for another 75 days or so. The new extension date is June 19th.
  • Instagram’s new edits app is now available. The app is meant to be Instagram’s version of the video editing app Capcut.
  • Facebook announces new measures to combat spam posts and comments. This means their systems will be searching more for irrelevant hashtags on posts. For example: If an attorney posts a testimonial and the caption is about how much they love dogs and has hashtags like #ilovepuppies instead of “Our clients are great! #clienttestimonials #personalinjuryattorney” — the puppy caption would be considered spam.

⚖Antitrust Cases

  • Google’s antitrust trial enters remedies phase. DOJ wants Google to sell the Chrome browser.
  • FTC antitrust case against Meta heads to trial.
  • Did Meta allow TikTok to grow intentionally in order to dilute their own FTC Antitrust case? This article discusses that possibility in depth.

Get inspired by some of the best law firm websites and discover 5 unique elements you can apply today.

While you sleep at night, a sales assistant is working for you 24/7 – your law firm’s website. However, does the work stop once you have a professionally built website? The truth is that today the most profitable legal websites remain on top because they’re consistently keeping their design elements and user experience up to date.

The “behind the scenes” of a website are more important than you might think. Research shows that 94% of a website’s first impression is based on its design, but what keeps users on a website is a positive user experience. When done right, a website can increase conversion rates by up to 400%!

Beyond looks, a robust website should help:

  • Increase on-page conversions
  • Boost quantity and quality of traffic
  • House all your stellar content in a secure web portal
  • Improve local SEO and Google My Business activity
  • Work alongside PPC efforts, e.g., by housing your advertisement landing pages

Perhaps the most unique feature of a tailored website is that it provides a safe space and complete control over your firm’s voice. This probably explains why more firms are investing in their websites, from 77% in 2018 to 94% in 2021.

If you want to get inspired, continue on and explore some of the top law firm websites, their unique design elements, and pro-tips you can start implementing.

Olson Law Firm

From the get-go, Olson’s homepage is visually appealing. Take a quick look:

Please note: Feel free to click on the image above and explore the rest of the firm’s website.

Olson Law Firm makes the most of its main page by adding the following elements:

  1. A video
  2. Quick social proof based on their results
  3. Clear CTAs (Call-to-Actions)
  4. A free downloadable piece of content – the word “free” is one of the most enticing and powerful words. Besides, who doesn’t love gifts?!
  5. An image of the attorneys that helps put “a face” to the firm.

Besides a visually inviting home page, they’re also leveraging the power of visuals through their video library. Here’s a snippet:

What your firm can learn from this website

Did you know that the brain can process visuals 60,000 times faster than text? It’s possible to build credibility with the help of videos. With video, you can provide clients with success stories, verdicts, and answer FAQs. On the flip side, it gives your firm a face and places you as the expert in all things law.

Erez Law Firm

Erez’s homepage has a solid visual hierarchy. Take a look:

Please note: Feel free to click on the image above and explore the rest of the firm’s website.

In web design, a robust visual hierarchy includes the following design elements:

  1. Sizing and scale: Anything scaled larger should attract attention. In this case, the headline and the financial recoveries are what initially catches the eye.
  2. Balance and symmetry: The images, text boxes, and menu bar are aligned and add geometric balance.
  3. Color: In the science behind colors, blue helps signal professionalism, power, security, and success.

As with the previous firm, they also leverage the power of visuals with a video FAQ section. What’s more, they’re making good use of their page’s space by redirecting the user to other relevant parts of the website:

What your firm can learn from this website

In design, navigability is what helps us get from A to Z. For example, add the navigation bar at the top (just like they did for their homepage), and for the other pages, interlink relevant pages with the help of a navigation bar to the right side.

Kreger Brodish Law Firm

From the start, the orange pop of color on Kreger Brodish’s homepage attracts the eye towards immediate actions like, “Contact Us For Your Free Consultation.” Yet, they remain on-brand with the firm’s logo and consistently use typography, colors, space, position, and size of images.

Please note: Feel free to click on the image above and explore the rest of the firm’s website.

For this specific firm, a unique element that stands out is their secure payment portal. They realize that people today want the convenience of online payments. Although this is common in other industries like fashion and shopping, the legal profession is still getting accustomed to this practice.

What your firm can learn from this website

Legal payments can be complicated, but firms are starting to reduce the work of manually accepting and managing costs by leaving it to secure legal payment portals like LawPay.

Herrman & Herrman Law Firm

The psychology of colors has taught us that colors evoke specific reactions and moods. In this case, Herrman & Herrman is using the color green, which is calming and refreshing, yet motivating and optimistic. Check it out:

Please note: Feel free to click on the image above and explore the rest of the firm’s website.

Like the other firms, Herrman & Herrman is leveraging the power of visuals, live chats, enticing calls to action, and an amplified menu bar. Apart from that, they’re reinforcing their branding by:

What your firm can learn from this website

To secure success means tapping into your users, and these questions can help you tap into their world:

  • How do they behave? How do you think they act?
  • What do they want?
  • What problems do they have?
  • How can you educate them? Inspire them? And most importantly, how can you help them?

What do the best law firm websites have in common?

The best websites all actively maintain a visually appealing website that helps them convert calls and cases without headaches by partnering with the experts in all things legal marketing: Consultwebs.

As technology evolves, so does the responsibility of web designers. Today, they have to consider each element on a web page to adapt to the needs of users with disabilities.

The ADA, Americans with Disabilities Act, was created in 1990 and it prohibits discrimination against those with disabilities, ensuring they have the same rights and opportunities as those without. This act covers all sectors, from public transportation to government facilities.

And, where’s the catch for law firms?

Well, in 2010, the Department of Justice (DOJ) passed the ADA for Accessible Design. In short, it mandates all information technology like websites to be accessible to those with disabilities by law.

So, why is an ADA-compliant website such a big deal?

  1. Your website should be designed to meet the needs of all different users in need of legal services. This includes users with, e.g., visual or hearing impairment.
  2. Courts are starting to see more compliance-related lawsuits. This is partly because the web and mobile applications have become more necessary in our everyday lives.

We want to point out that while the ADA does not offer a set of web compliance guidelines, many follow the Web Content Accessibility Guideline(s) – WCAG.

Stay with us as we explain the importance of these guidelines and actionable steps you can take today to ensure your firm’s website is ADA compliant.

“Why should my firm care about the Web Content Accessibility Guideline?”

Many people with disabilities use assistive technology that enables them to use computers. Some of these involve the use of separate computer programs that include but isn’t limited to screen readers, text enlargement, voice control, etc. Fortunately, this is where WCAG comes in.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines cooperate with individuals and organizations around the world. Their main goal is to explain how your firm’s web content can be more accessible to people with disabilities. The most recent guideline is the WCAG 2.1, and its purpose is to ensure your firm’s website is:

  • *Perceivable: The content is presented in an easily perceivable way.
  • *Operable: The navigation is easy to operate.
  • *Understandable: The content is easily understood.
  • *Robust: The content can be interpreted by different devices and platforms.

*We’ll explain some of the best practices in the following chapter.

Overall, with the help of WCAG, firms allow all users to feel comfortable when navigating the site. Thus, end up using it for its intended purpose(s) like finding more information, learning about your practice areas, filling a form, booking a call, contacting a specialist, etc.

The best way to have an ADA-compliant website

Now that we’ve clarified why a compliant website is a must, let’s look into what makes a compliant website.

1. Evaluate your current site

According to Hackernoon, two programs rate your site’s usability.

  1. Wave – This is an excellent place to start your site’s audit. However, you’ll run the possibility of bumping into a few false positives.
  2. Lighthouse – Helps generate reports on potential issues.

2. Follow the ADA-compliant graphics

If you’re investing in quality captivating visual content, you’ll want everyone to enjoy it! Here are some best practices to ensure this:

  • Include graphics and if they have flashes, make sure to add a flash warning, and it shouldn’t flash more than three times per second. Otherwise, it could induce a seizure in the person watching.

3. Add alt-text

The alt-text captions allow site readers to describe the image with audio. For example, people with a visual impairment might use a refreshable Braille display that translates text into Braille or use screen readers.

  • There are no specific rules for this but try to describe the image as precisely as possible, keep it short, use a few keywords and avoid using “image of” or “picture of.” Here’s an example of an image with alt-text:
Example of Image ALT text

4. Add readable fonts.

Ensure there’s a high contrast between the text’s color and background. Besides that, pick a font that’s easy to read because research has shown that users over 45 and people with visual impairment find the following letters and symbols confusing.

  • i / j
  • B / 8
  • D / O, 0, o
  • r / v / Y
  • k / R
  • a / o
  • F / f
  • g / q

On this note, it’s also best to limit greens and reds to make it more readable for people with color blindness.

5. Allow multiple settings in multimedia like videos

For the most part, videos are captivating, but they present a problem for people with hearing and visual impairment.

For this, videos have to incorporate more features such as:

  • Adding audio descriptions.
  • Providing text captions that are synchronized with the videos/images.
  • Including skip navigation allows people who use screen readers to ignore the links.

6. Make sure it includes logical features

Users want a unique but logical experience on your website. To make it this way, here are a few basic rules to follow:

  1. Put a clear “X” to any pop-ups.
  2. Keep essential pages like “Contact Us” with a predictable and straightforward copy.
  3. Use an icon like a magnifying glass and add “search hear” to make the search bar stand out.

7. Keep up to date with the ADA and WCAG compliance

The ADA doesn’t explicitly address these best practices. However, firms keeping up with these best practices are one step ahead.

The gist of it

People with disabilities should always be accounted for in your website’s design. In addition to that, new changes in technology bring new solutions to the table. In this case, you’ve learned how certain contents and formats pose serious barriers for some people.

But, you can ensure your awesome web content is accessible to all and converts calls and cases ( without the headaches of having to do it yourself!) How? Pair up with a team of legal marketing experts that’ll do all of this for you.

Web 3.0 is on its way to becoming the new paradigm of the Internet. Some argue that Web 3.0 is already here – at least the initial stages of it. We’ll give you a quick recap of what this means and, more so, what it means for your law firm.

Every so often, the Internet evolves. Just think back to the early 1990s when the Internet’s primary purpose was to share information (anybody remembers Windows XP? We sure do…). Ever since then, the Internet has grown and continues to do so. Web 1.0 was coined by Tim Berners Lee, the Web’s original inventor. Following closely, we found ourselves working with Web 2.0, which is also where we currently stand. Web 2.0 focuses on interactivity, and under this umbrella, many tech giants like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube were born. What’s more, during the era of Web 2.0, other giants like Amazon and Google grew to insurmountable proportions and virtually exploded! The Internet is evolving as we speak, and this is where Web 3.0 comes in.

Web 3.0 integrates automation, live tools, and AI management into the digital culture. All in all, this new process aims at understanding humans better and provides us, the users, with much more relevant and faster results. This means two things for law firms:

  • From the customer’s point of view, they’ll connect to the Internet and get an even more personalized search results page. In addition, they’ll get an even more customized user experience with the help of, e.g., chatbots or AI-driven scheduling tools.
  • From the law firm’s point of view, they’ll be more accessible to potential clients online. Consequently, firms can reach more potential clients, expand their business, network, reach, and pretty much expand across all horizons.

The nature of Web 3.0 is still complex, growing, and largely unknown. Therefore, we’ve decided to break down all the findings that we could find for you, and bring you the most reliable information with what the world currently knows about Web 3.0 and what this entails for your firm. In our first part of Web 3.0 for law firms, we covered the history of Web 1.0, Web 2.0, and what Web 3.0 implies. In addition to that, we also provided six actionable steps so your firm prepares for Web 3.0.

Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s start peeling the rest of the layers.

What are the secret ingredients of Web 3.0?

What are the characteristics and properties of Web 3.0?

For starters, the first noticeable characteristics under Web 3.0 are:

  1. Open: Anyone in the world should be able to access records.
  2. Trustless: Users will interact publicly or privately without using a third party, e.g., Facebook. This is a significant shift from Web 2.0. Under today’s Web, big giants like Google, Facebook, and Amazon dominate the Internet. All the user data collected by them is then sold to others, and this is a growing data privacy concern for users. Under Web 3.0, it is predicted that users will own their data or at least have much more transparency when it comes to who owns their data and what’s being done with it.
  3. Permissionless: Similar to the previously mentioned point, anyone can participate without a governing body, e.g., without the big tech giants. In other words, it aims at becoming decentralized.

In addition to these characteristics, the properties that make up Web 3.0 include:

  1. Semantic Web: This is an extension of the world wide web, and it allows users to create, share, and connect. This is based on understanding the real meaning behind keywords and numbers placed in the search bar.
  2. 3D Graphics: They will be widely used in websites, online video games, e-commerce sites, etc. It’s similar to the metaverse concept.
    • Metaverse is a technology that implements augmented reality, virtual reality, and video – in other words, people can work and interact in these virtual settings. Facebook changed its name to Meta for a reason: they want to build a metaverse of their own. They’re prepared for Web 3.0 and aim to help users take their accounts/avatars from site to site.
  3. Artificial Intelligence: Specifically, natural language processing (NLP) allows computers to comprehend language in the way we speak it. For example, if we search the Web for ‘Apple,’ we could get two completely different results: either the fruit or the tech company. NLP aims to understand the context of the user’s search intent and provide quicker and more relevant results.

What are the opportunities and challenges with Web 3.0?

One of the main benefits of Web 3.0 is that prospects will be able to explore the Web with more complex search queries. Other noticeable opportunities with Web 3.0 include:

  • Better business opportunities will emerge due to faster and more efficient search results. Plus, it’s good to remember that being found online is key to your firm’s survival.
  • New technology will facilitate your business processes, e.g., chatbots that answer FAQs or more relevant advertisements.
  • Better security from hackers.
  • Trust from your users since they’ll have more control over the usage of their own data.

However, there are some challenges with Web 3.0, and that includes:

  • The population is increasingly wanting more privacy and transparency. They want to know where and how the data is used.
  • Although this new Web aims at being decentralized, our current Web is dominated by big giants, so it’s difficult to discern what this new decentralized format will look like.
  • It’s still in its early stages; therefore, it’s challenging to determine what’s to come with absolute certainty.

Why does Web 3.0 matter?

Although there are challenges and gaps to fill in, Web 3.0 matters, there’s a growing increase of users concerned with their data privacy. Studies have shown that an increasing number of users are concerned with their data privacy. To be exact, based on a study, 86% of respondents feel a growing concern about their data privacy. Additionally, 78% expressed fear about the amount of data collected. This is a significant concern for not only users but for businesses as well. On one side, enterprises need data to give the users the most optimized and personal experience. On the other side, users increasingly distrust companies with their data, in part due to data leaks and lack of transparency. This is a problem that Web 3.0 aims at solving.

Although this is still in the works, your firm can take some actionable steps to secure privacy today:

  • Be more transparent with what you’re doing with your users’ data.
  • Give users more control of their data. This means allowing the user to opt-out of sharing some of their more sensitive data.
  • Create a corporate data responsibility page on your website and explain how the data is used and protected.

Move Faster, Better, and Stronger

Although it’s still not 100% clear how long it will take to reach a fully functioning Web 3.0, one thing is certain: Web 3.0 will change our lives both personally and professionally. As we dive deeper into the Web 3.0 era, online will be an even more indispensable part of our everyday lives. On top of that, more and more users are opting to search for online services. This implies your firm’s digital efforts must be optimized to fit these upcoming new norms.

As Web 3.0 evolves, so must your firm – you will need to move faster, better and stronger today and tomorrow with the help of legal digital marketing experts by your side to ensure your spot as an industry leader. While we hope our blog posts offer the latest and most enriching legal marketing information, we also understand that putting in the actual marketing plan to work by yourself requires a mass amount of effort, expertise, and time. More than just a fancy business card, legal website design can be a branding vehicle, an experience for clients, a sales machine, and an essential component of a law firm’s marketing strategy.

But the truth of the matter is, when it comes to website design, most law firms favor something within standards, rather than something outstanding.

We’ve scoured the Internet for what we think are the very best examples of legal websites – websites from strongly branded firms featuring a clean design, simple copy, and a sense of humor and style.
